Hebrews 2:1 “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”
Tourists in the Peace River area of Alberta can buy a statue replica of “Twelve-Foot Davis.” Here is the explanation of how this early settler got his name:
A Vermont-born trader, explorer, and prospector, Henry Fuller Davis got his nickname in the Cariboo in 1861, when he discovered a strip of unclaimed land between two major gold strikes and, in the 12-foot space, mined enough of the precious metal to net him between $12,000 and $20,000.
Jesus referred to the Christian life as “The narrow way”. As biblical men, we need to stay focused on that narrow way – because that is our portion. Don’t let your eyes wander off to the “broad way which leads to destruction”, and envy sinners.
Matthew 7:13–14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Proverbs 23:17 “Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.”
